Looks great, Pepe! They look like a really good match the original two.

What knobs are you going to put on the RRV-10? The black ones that were on your DF-2?

I have two white BOSS knobs that will be placeholders in the meantime.

I sold a few effects in the last days. This morning I picked up a Japanese DF-2 in pretty good shape for 80 EUR. The ad has been online for a few weeks with lots of views, but it seems that the seller didn't want to ship it, or else it had already been sold at this very reasonable price. I didn't ask. I only left the place with a happy grin. Pictures will follow once I have reassembled it. The four knobs were all crackling like crazy.

It looks better. It is Made in Japan. It sounds good. What about the noise issue that the Taiwanese model has?

And now that I have tested everything properly, I ran into the noise issue again. This Taiwanese model (and the first one that I had) has a ticking noise when engaged. It is a very noticeable tic-a-tic-a-tic-a until either the pedal gets bypassed or when the guitar's volume is fully turned down.

However, I found a solution to this annoying problem! Another buffered pedal in front of the DF-2 makes this noise stop completely. :ugeek:
There is no rhythmic noise. The pedal can be used on its own, unlike the Taiwanese model.

I'm going to put the black knobs back on the Taiwanese model and sell it. It is very likely that I can get the 80 EUR back through the sale. I will use the orange knobs for the RRV-10 again and then I have two orange spare knobs. Win, win, win. :D

I'm going to compare the circuit boards of the MIJ and MIT pedals. All the three Japanese pedals that I had didn't have the ticking noise, the two Taiwanese pedals did. There must have been a change in the circuitry or in the used components that causes this flaw.

Got this for dirt cheap a few weeks ago. Kind of cool, but I was disappointed that for the modulation they went with a fake tape delay type modulation rather than the actual SDE flange/chorus.

Great find! Really strange that they decided to alter the modulation sound. I had expected the chorus/flanger type with these controls.

Here is a first picture of the cleaned Japanese DF-2 next to its younger Taiwanese brother. The days are wet, cold and grey, so I used artificial light. You can see that the orange paint is stronger. I love how clean this unit looks.

That's strange. They made quite a big deal in all the marketing blurb about it supposedly having the same modulation/chorus as the original. e.g. here.

Was intending to pick one of these up but might have to do a bit more research. I wonder if the SDE-3000D is the same?
