Alright! Every participant does now have the address details of the recipients. The tour can begin! It's exactly one month before Christmas. Overseas parcels should be sent off within the next two weeks.

Those who are going to send a parcel to Europe: please keep in mind what I told you about attaching a separate shipping list on the outside of the parcel to make it rush through the customs. Or else it may become an Easter present. ;)

Folks - a quick update.

Due to industrial action, Canada Post is now saying that international parcels may not be delivered until March 2019. Additionally, I've just had an international eBay seller cancel an order because their postal service is not accepting parcels addressed to Canada.

Even for parcels internal to Canada, the Canada Post tracking site is saying "Delivery may be delayed due to labour disruption"... with no projected delivery date.

I think we have to re-think the Canadian legs of this tour... I'm considering removing myself because it just won't work.

That's horrible news. :(

That would immensely affect our pedal tour and it seems like we're forced to re-think it completely. Oh man! :x

I agree. Canada Post are making things very complicated. Even sending a package from Montreal to Toronto takes more than a week (usually within 24h).

If nobody already sent a parcel I'm thinking of going out too just because the parcel will not make it on time.

I haven't sent mine. There is just no point. It won't go anywhere. People are now physically blockading the Canada post trucks.

Pepe please remove me from the tour. If my secret santa has already sent me something we will work something out...

Same here. There is no point in staying on this time around.

Again, if my Santa sent me something already, we'll work something out.

The crazy thing is: Keep in mind while Laurie and I live in the same country, we are more than 3500 km apart... I think it's a testimony that the problem is deeply rooted: it's not just local in some area of Canada: It's everywhere and spreads on 5 (and a half for Newfoundland) time zones. That Canada Post strike is getting out of hand and honestly, I don't see this being solved quickly.

I'm going to contact the concerned participants later in the night. Oh, Canada Post ...! :|

The only partially elegant solution I can see is if Pepe can sort something out with the folks sending pedals to Gasgano and me, then Gasgano and I swap pedals. Or sclitheroe/Gasgano/Laurie do a three-way swap keeping it in Canada.

That way maybe we would receive the package before Christmas...

Just a thought.
