Yes, it should be unity gain. If it is significantly quieter than when the pedal is completely bypassed, there is a problem.

Q2 is the input buffer.

Thank you. I had meant when the pedal is on, if I turn the wet/dry pot all the way to the wet side and set it to unity vs. bypassed, if I pan the pot all the way to the dry side, it is lower volume than when bypassed. I didn't own one of these back in the day, so I'm not sure if this is how it is supposed to be.
