A box of air... SMD SD-1
I was expecting surface mount, but this is a whole lot of empty space.

Re: A box of air... SMD SD-1
I use the term "stamp-sized circuit boards" in my ads when selling BOSS pedals with through-hole circuit boards. This is really a sad view, isn't it? If BOSS only used a slightly bigger board with a few bigger solder points that the most modifications use, then I wouldn't complain. At least not as loudly.

Boss could offer smaller format pedals with that circuit board.

I use to mod a lot of pedals and seen this is a DS-1 years ago

Room for another circuit in there, like a "Bad Bob" etc.

This is a very good idea. Adding a simple circuit would be pretty cool!fuzzbuzzfuzz wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 1:25 amRoom for another circuit in there, like a "Bad Bob" etc.
It's quite possible to drop an EMG SPC/EXG/RPC/VMC/EXB module in there with a little ingenuity. These would play great with the buffered, instrument level nature of the pedal, plus they don't draw a ton of current, so powering them is easy, too.
Hmm... A VMC in a SD1...

indeed. Plenty of possibilities. even a simple footswitch do de-gain or add-mids..bigtone23 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 7:47 amThis is a very good idea. Adding a simple circuit would be pretty cool!fuzzbuzzfuzz wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 1:25 amRoom for another circuit in there, like a "Bad Bob" etc.

I was just thinking about the Wilde Q Filter. I use one on a bass, tuned the cap and resistor with the 500K pot to get as close to a variable 450Hz cut as possible. It's a really cool passive EQ control. Could be an option.
