Hello all,
For fun I popped all the pedals I didn't use on a pedalboard rebuild onto a separate board (slightly smaller) and popped on the FRV-1 that I had picked up a few months back. My ears are very picky with reverbs and to be honest I've rarely liked any digital reverb - most are quite "stiff" to me, and at higher mix settings the pick attack is non-existent. So with that in mind...
Who owns a FVR-1?
Where do you put it in the chain?
What settings sound good to your ears? (with or without gain?)
Cheers!
(Sidenote: I loved mine more after I changed the knobs, psychology!

)
That looks great/authentic with those knobs!
TBH, I don’t love reverb and prefer delay. My boards always have a long, tappable delay and a shorter delay pedal.
However, I found a RV2 many years ago for cheap, so I had to grab it, as it’s BOSS, a historical piece, plus it could be my digital pedal reverb.
Same with the FRV1, found one a few year ago for super cheap, had to grab it, too. Spring reverb, pedal, BOSS. Yep!
The classic setting of the original Fender reverb units was plugged into the front of the amp and the knobs set to 6 6 6! I tried plugging it in last in the chain with the 666 setting. It is
that sound. Way too drippy and wet for me. My setting is closer to 2 2 3.
Obviously, this is best located after the dirt/gain/compression pedals or in the loop.
