I'm not really into phasers, but I do wish I hadn't sold my PH-1r I used in one of my old bands, it has a crazy swoosh with the bass that made the drummer jump up from his stool the first time I turned it on.

I have an MXR block logo for sale now, it's not what I had hoped it would be.

I'm not really into phasers

There are so many (to my ears) bad sounding phasers out there so that I fully understand why some musicians really dislike this effect. The Alesis Mod-FX Faze is such a candidate, really awful sounding and off-putting.

I have never had the possibility to purchase a low-priced Mu-Tron or Maestro phaser - those are the ones that I like most in old recordings. So I use what comes close to my favourite phaser sound. These are the KORG KPH-410 and KORG Mr. Multi for four stage phasing and the DingoTone LGP for six stage phasing.

Yep, exactly that one. Recapped and calibrated it sounds fantastic, especially with electric piano.

I've been playing a lot with phasers they are quite fun. I have little pedalboard fly rigs for work, home and also actual band/gig. I think unfortunately as iconic as they are I can't bond with a phase 90 because it doesnt have a depth knob, there is so much happening at half depth, phase 45 might have been the perfect 1 knob phaser. My most reliable phasers are actually 2 I received from cheap pedal exchange tours:

1) PSK PAS-2 phaser (thank you pepe!) seems to be a direct boss ph-1r clone and I managed to get the trim pot to a sweet spot!

and
2) also the guyatone ps-2 thank you fuzzbuzzfuzz! (seems to be phase 90 with a depth knob and an LFO that is slightly shaped more like a rising saw wave LFO. honestly sounds eerily similar to a rotovibe's "chorus" mode, which is more phasery univibe

I also made a pedalpcb mutron biphase clone which again, its the depth knob that really make it usable for me. and I caught a deal on an arion stereo phaser, I think the arion stuff is actually not a direct BOSS clone so I wonder if it will have any surprises. oh and I will keep my BOSS PH-3 rise and fall modes are too much fun.

Nice to hear that you still enjoy the PSK Phaser! It is indeed a BOSS PH-1R, just relabelled and rehoused for the South Korean market.

I purchased an Arion SPH-1 Stereo Phaser a few months ago. It has nothing in common with the BOSS phasers, it's an own breed and really cool sounding. It has a very pleasing sound in stereo as well, at least over headphones.

I think I read that the arion “stereo” may be dry/wet? Or maybe the mode selector makes it sum/difference and dry/wet? In any case to my astonishment the dry/wet stereo phaser I can get from simply using only 1 section of the biphasor is in fact a lively and stereo experience

Yes, the Arion offers both options, and both sound nice.

BOSS: PH1, PH2
MXR: 1982 P90, P95 (which lives in the P45 setting)
MuTron Phasor II '78?
Electro Harmonix: '76 Small Stone and newer Nano Small Stone, which is totally redundant...

7 is a lot of phase pedals for a guy that rarely uses it!

There might be another mini Chinese P90 or SS copy phaser in there, as when I go through the pedal boxes I tend to run across something of that nature that I forgot about, like the FUXX FUZZ last week.

I got my arion in. It is snazzy If you manage to get the trim pots in the right spot I find the basic sound is same as PH-1R, the LFO shape and everything, except the resonance is different, a little more formant vocal like on the arion. I also enjoy hearing the stereo output on its own for a more univibe like character.

That settings great, they really killed it with that pedal!
