BOSS HF-2 Power/LED problem. Any help appreciated!

I was just about to ship my spare HF-2 to its new owner, when upon checking I noticed it refuses to fire up and work with a power supply.

- NO LED lit with ACA supply (2 tried) - bypass sound only, NO EFFECT sound.
- NO LED lit with PSA or "Normal" 9v power supply, NO EFFECT sound.
- LED lit with battery, BYPASS + EFFECT sound out.
- LED lit daisy chain to BOSS TU-2,, BYPASS + EFFECT sound out.

As a precaution I replaced the power-in Jack with a new one, but the same as above.

Quite a perplexing case!

Wierd. Seems like the flip-flop that switches the FETs has malfunctioned.

Since power with a battery and the PSA-daisy-chain method works, might there be a problem with the few components of the ACA input?

Possibly the protection diode? I wonder which that is (there being a few on the pcb)

I want to make sure I understand the description of the problem:

Bypass works fine, but pedal does not switch to effected mode when treadle pressed?

Bypass works fine and effect work fine. Pedal switches to effected mode and back normally when treadle pressed?
