After reading all 21 pages of the The Gear Page forum about the RE-2, thru all kind of BS like: conspiracy theories, Boss marketing stunt, arguments about semantics and all kind of nonsense, two bits of information taken from there are relevant, the message the seller sent to the buyers after canceling the order and the most plausible explanation of what happened,
if the pedal is indeed real.
The message:
"Hello! We wanted to reach out and let you know that due to an error with this listing, we were forced to cancel your order unfortunately. You will get a full refund for the item and should see it soon. We are so sorry about this mistake, we're working with the representative responsible to make sure this doesn't happen again. Again, we are very sorry about this and thank you for your business."
Maybe Boss lawyers contacted them to tell a pretty little story about stolen goods reception.
A possible explanation posted by olejason at the TGP:
"My big-brained conspiracy theory is that this was a lost shipment of demo units headed to Boss USA who would have then forwarded them to testers and people who produce demos. Their recent releases have worked this way, a small number of units are sent out for testing and, once closer to release, demos."
Although I am still not completely sold, I am a tiny little bit more optimistic about the RE-2 being a real thing.
