wait, shoot did the FZ-3 do the guitar volume knob roll off trick? I didn't know it was possible to do from behind a buffer... FZ-1W might have some true bypass relay trickery like the TU-3W

Re: BOSS FZ-1W WAZA Fuzz...
I'll have to check my units but I believe not, perhaps a little gain reduction.
Viewing various videos the FZ-1W seems to sit between the FZ-3 and the FZ-5, slightly harsh clipping, compressed, even reminds me a bit of the FZ-2 boost mode.
It is a newly designed circuit apparently so I'm sure they have a few tricks regarding clean up, it seems to do so up to about 80% or so.

Yes it was low, just the odd chip etc being a used item. I gave it a whirl but in all honesty I didn't need it, and as much as its a lovely delay the DM-2 is very "normal" to me. I do have one original MN3005 (my preferred chip), which was also a very surprising $130 (no rubber ring lol), that was a lucky find after years of keeping my eyes peeled, so I've ticked the DM-2 box.
The DM-2 is the only WAZA that seems to have come up for resale and the prices tend to be set around 2/3rds of new for used goods, usually the WAZAs are 22,000-24,500 here new. I think because of the plentiful supply of DM-2 originals here there's a bit of room to discount the WAZA equivalent, or I should say less demand for it.
Incidentally I recently traded some BIAS branded pedals (a Locobox made product under various brands OEM style) including an analog delay. As usual before sending I tested it and fell in love with its low-fi warm, bassy big sound, I though "oh no, I've done it again, sold a gem!". On a hunch I thought it must be a DM-2 copy of the day, so I A/B-ed with my DM-2 for quite a while to hone in the sound. The DM-2 was less bass and clearer but basically the same, so I satisfied myself knowing I could recapture the BIAS branded pedals sound. SO I must like the DM-2 in some capacity!
Same goes for the Tokai ADL-1, another excellent DM-2 copy!

FZ-1W arrived today and, my first impressions is that it is damn good ! I like fatness and depth in a fuzz and this one has it.

Nice one, Doc. I've been keeping an eye out but nowhere seems to have them in stock, that I've found at least.
