BOSS FZ-1W WAZA Fuzz...
Re: BOSS FZ-1W WAZA Fuzz...
Well, BO$$ strikes again...
I was resting over the laurels of the victory but knew that they will release a new pedal soon.
Sounds good and I want it.

Well in a way this is something to celebrate in my view as it's both a TB-2W substitute (emotionally) and practically in that it is close to being an FZ-3 update but more to vintage spec.
Silicon (NOT "silicone" as in the official BOSS video ), cutting, sounds a bit more compressed and splatty to the smoothness of the FZ-3. Price seems consistent with WAZA releases I think. I'm not absolutely sold on the sounds but, well, I do collect fuzzes and BOSS! Hopefully with widespread release the prices will remain calm and a used price item might be sourced!
But overall well done BOSS!
Released 11th December here at 22,000 yen and listed as "Made in Japan".

So far not a single Waza Craft pedal has made it to my home, because used prices aren't really low.

I’ll buy one for exactly the same reasons as fuzzbuzzfuzz !

I have seen the odd DM-2W at around $125 ish here, but yes it is certainly not sub $100 territory even for an SD-1W.
And indeed I've yet to buy a WAZA, though a MIJ VB-2W would be nice or oddly I'd love a TU-3W the most!

If I saw one for that price here I'd buy it in a heartbeat...
Not sold on the FZ-1W.

Import costs and materials have gone through the roof over the past couple of years. Inflation is picking up the pace in the UK, and what with all the additional costs facing businesses here, It's no real surprise.
Bet there will be several places selling it lower, though. Thomann usually have decent discounts, and Andertons aren't usually bad, either.

Re: BOSS FZ-1W WAZA Fuzz...
The normal DS-1 has a price tag of 66 EUR in Germany. It has a small SMD board.
A few years ago (okay, maybe 15 ...) the DS-1 with through-hole components was under 40 EUR.
Prices are totally crazy. I haven't bought a new pedal in years. Apart from the OC-5 that went straight back to the shop again.

Just pre-ordered an FZ-1W. From experience I might not get it until 2022 though! I’ll keep you posted.
