With a external speaker socket you could use another speaker using the same amp. Actually with a mic pressed up to the cloth it does give an ok character when I record it and on full volume it can normally wake the mice up, just.
Not technically backline I doubt but these are the monitors I normally hear everything back through.
Edifier R1280T, given the size and cost these really are great monitors.
