XPEWT8 - Christmas Pedal Exchange World Tour 8

Post by Pepe » Wed Sep 03, 2025 9:22 am

It's already September again. Time to think about another Christmas tour. Do you think it is possible anyway? In this year with all the craziness concerning customs tariffs etcetera it looks a bit tougher than usual. Maybe we should wait until mid-October to see if all the regulations are still in force then. :?

I'm happy to be part of it, but can't execute until post is resolved. Any other method is hugely expensive, and will subject the recipient to even more additional charges.

So, I'm in as long as everyone is OK with things being late, almost certainly after Christmas.

I am going to send a few personal invitations via e-mail in the next days. Let's see who is going to take part during these crazy times.

Right now DHL Germany supports shipping gifts to the USA as a private person up to a value of 100 EUR, so there is no problem for me to send something along in this direction.

Also, DHL Germany states that the big postal strike in Canada was over and that standard shipping was possible again, but due to the created backlog they expect that the delivery will be delayed.

Another way of avoiding post/customs trouble was to purchase a pedal (new or used) in the country of the recipient and have it sent to his address. This doesn't allow for some personal extras, but it is a possibility to expand the tour. What do you think (especially Laurie)?
