13 years ago I sold a nice PN-2 only to regret it ever since and some while ago I had the idea to build a small Boss only board for my Rhodes Piano. Serendipty led to a used PN-2 that was offered for the same price that I sold my old one for 13 years ago. So I pulled the trigger.
I also always wondered what the EH-2 would really do to enhance the sound of either a guitar or Rhodes and bingo a rather affordable EH-2 crossed my path. Sad to say that I prefer my GE7 as an enhance first in line of my Rhodes board more than the EH-2, so I guess this will make a good door stop
Then my Clavinet became quite jealous of the Rhodes having an all Boss board and I using available stuff I had lying around enter the Clavinet board. But of course I wondered if a FT-2 would be sounding better than the TW-1 with the Clav. Luckily I found a rather cheap FT-2. Still the TW-1 wins for the Clav, but the FT-2 is nice for guitar!
I already had a nice OD2 which I modded to get back some more headroom/level. So naturally I was intrigued if a OD2r would sound as good as the OD2 with more headroom from the factory. I must report that the OD2 still sounds better, more compressed to my ears (!) but the OD2r complements the OD2: I use the OD2r for lower gain sounds and the the OD2 for a bit higher gain.
And last but not least: inspired by a video on YT by the magnificent Clifton Wright, I mangaed to find a cheap Me-x. Great Delays, Chorus and on addition you can put on three compact Boss pedals of your choice. Nice piece of kit that rivals and excels over some of the cheap current digital modeler stuff (of course wo any fancy IRs etc.).
Quite the growth of the Boss herd and I was able to keep this a secret from the better half for now. Guess I have entered the silly Boss pedal colector phase….
