I won't disagree. But nonetheless one of the cheapest units I've seen in years.

I think that is a 90s reissue.
My 1984 TS9 is in slightly better condition than that one hehe.

I haven't known that there were reissues in the '90s already. What models have they reissued back then?

The TS9 reissue came out in 1992-93 or so. Earliest ones have bottom labels/serials that also coincide with some of the 83-84s, so on these ones you have to look at the op amp/caps to tell if it is an original or reissue.
Mid-late 90s TS9 reissues have the CE logo on the bottom label. The earlier reissues have a MAXON tooling on the inside of the battery cover.
These were pretty much the only reissues in that timeframe before they brought out the AD9, CS9, and FL9 reissues in the late 90s. In 2002 things switched to having Ibanez make them, so the battery cover tooling has an Ibanez logo and at some point the bottom labels also had an Ibanez logo.
They didn't bring the TS808 reissues back until someone started manufacturing the switches again. I don't remember exactly when that happened.

With thanks to pepe who found this one advertised in Canada for cheap ... arrived yesterday.
Supposed to come with a 9VAC power supply. The seller did advise it was the wrong supply, but I didn't know how wrong. It is a 5VDC supply, and the unit still boots up! Great engineering on the part of Alesis.

Picked up another OD808 yesterday. Same fault as the last one:

An easy fix. Sold as "broken" for USD$45

When I found the time actually hook it up and test the audio, regrefully it did not work. No idea why - it simply doesn't pass signal in effect or bypass mode.
The seller was very helpful and immediately gave a full refund. I still have the unit and will take a look at it when time permits, but I'm not hopeful.

Replaced the pots on this one. This is the condition of the old pots. One of them has disintegrated from a big hit. For the other one, I particularly like the inventiveness of drilling a hole down a broken shaft and inserting a self-tapping screw.
