OK they have appeared now. Looks very smart and a careful repair. Great job!

Re: New (broken) pedal day!
And I have another candidate coming in. Last night I offered 35 EUR including shipping for a broken Taiwanese BOSS BF-2B with low effect output. Let's see what I can do for this one. I have never had the Bass Flanger and as so many old units the prices for working models are too high for my taste to try them out just out of curiosity.

Nice. Low volume should be something straightforward.Pepe wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 8:59 amAnd I have another candidate coming in. That's what I thought as well. The seller bought it several years ago and it was faulty on arrival. Obviously he has never made an attempt (or maybe he doesn't have the skills) to investigate where the fault might come from. I suppose something got loose during the transportation. That wouldn't be the first time.

The BF-2B arrived today. I don't know what should be wrong with it. To me it sounds as if it is working properly. Resonance is a bit low and could need an adjustment, but apart from that the unit seems to be absolutely okay.

Re: New (broken) pedal day!
Today I received a Pearl AD-33 Analog Delay that I managed to buy for a relatively low price. It was advertised as being defective, because the seller was only able to engage it via the FOOT SW. jack on the back.
As I suspected, all the pedal needed were simply two new high quality tactile switches. The old ones were worn out and the two pedals didn't press them with the required force. Now they work as they should.
The pedal sounds good and that's no wonder, because an MN3005 is working under its hood. I am a little bit disappointed, though, because the right pedal switches between the two dialled delay speed and feedback values, but there is a gap without effect sound when it is engaged. I had hoped for a seamlessly gliding switching option, similar to the speed function of the PH-44 Phaser that swells like a rotary speaker effect. But nonetheless it is cool to have two selectable settings.
Does anyone know what the six trimpots do? I would like to enhance the delay time and to increase the feedback amount which is very tame for an analogue delay. There are no schematics in the internet (the only source that I have found has vanished long ago).
I suspect that the trimpots AVR3, 4 and 6 are interfering with the MN3005, but I'm not sure. Is there anything that could be damaged if I tried shorting each trimpot with the head of a screwdriver? I would like to find out which one does what. Or does anyone know for sure by looking on the circuit board pictures below (photos in higher resolution will open if you click on them)?

The trimpots will be for the usual - delay time, BBD trim, feedback limit, etc.
Without a schematic ... very hard to know what does what.

Re: New (broken) pedal day!
But could I use a screwdriver as a "jumper" to hear what happens at each trimpot, or is that not recommended at an 18V circuit? Should I better remember the settings and turn the trimpots?

Re: New (broken) pedal day!
I would carefully mark the current positions. Not sure "jumpering" is a good idea...
