Yes. It might be! :ugeek:
I take that as a "yes". :)

I still haven't found a moment to try out Laurie's pedal. But I found a review from a big German guitar magazine from 2017 in the internet and the summary sounds very promising!

New hint: it has another switch next to the bypass switch.

I'm trying to think of a company that offshored their manufacturing. I believe DOD was American but Digitech started selling the pedals, but I'm not sure what nationality the main company is that owns Digitech.

So, random guess: Digitech (formerly DOD) Grunge pedal.

No, it's not DOD, and on the other hand I have the DOD Gonkulator Ringmod. I have really never had a unit of this certain originally American company. A lot of their pedals were very cheap. This relatively new product line looks rather expensive and the name suggests that as well.

MXR EVH Phase 90?
Nope.
It has 3 knobs.
Dirk's clues:
  • It is from a well known company
  • Not Boss
  • Not an MXR EVH Phase 90, but I notice Dirk did not say '"not an MXR" so it might still be that brand
  • a very nifty variation on one of their most popular pedals
  • 3 knobs
Well known companies...
  • MXR who do have "nifty variations"
  • EHX who also have nifty variations...
  • Who else?
Now - Dirk is known for Bass. Could it be something like an EHX Bass Big Muff?

I had an hour without our youngest girl yesterday, so I used that situation to try the pedal for over 40 minutes or so. I like it! Thanks a lot!

No, it's not. It's also not MXR.

This company also makes instruments.
This particular pedal is designed for guitar, but works great with bass as well.

Is it perhaps the Danelectro Roebuck distortion?
