I just came back from the post office with a Christmas parcel.

Dirk told me in an e-mail a while ago that he received his parcel as well, so now the last parcel is on the way to Laurie (and we still have two weeks!).

Day 32. Becalmed. No land in sight. Hot days turned into wild, rain-filled nights. Several times we were able to stop to swim in water so transparent I found it hard to gauge how far under I’d gone.

Day 33: Still no wind. No sign of land. Becalmed in the sonic wilderness.

Laurie will be done writing his novel before the package arrives...

Day 34: The barren desert of the open ocean is taking a toll. A vast emptiness of ennui. A pod of curious whales caused some excitement this morning, but after that... nothing.

O, Canada Post, where are you? Why have you forsaken me?

Day 35: Rations are running low. In another week all we will have left is one barrel of rum. Fish and rum. And still nothing has come.
