To ease the pain... (this is a tough one)... The pedal received is actually a clone, made by the member who was kind enough to send it.
The original pedal has:
- "Out Level", "Tone" and "Drive" knobs.
- One switch (the stomp switch)
- Colour of the pedal body is black

Considering :
- Pepe cannot guess
- Pepe loves Korg stuff
- The Korg OVD-1 is the only overdrive with the "Out Level" mention instead of Level or Volume (other than the Kod-101 that would require the rest of the board)
- Korg pedal have a black body
- The pedal is a clone
Pepe sent you a Korg OVD-1 clone.

That's a hell of a story... nice one!
You should have seen the size of my eyes when I started cleaning it up and right about the same time I noticed the label from the closed store on the box. That fraction of a second where I put 2 and 2 together and realized "Holy moly, I just made a hell of a deal". I almost wished I had done it on purpose
. I mean, once cleaned up I could not tell it apart from mine (which was also purchased brand new at a (less) discounted price because "that pedal is discontinued and it will never sell").

I've been going thru old SBZ post to find the pedal, some pictures no longer show up but my guess is either
Fredric Effects Zombie Klon
or
DIY Ring Modulator
(Both pedals are from the 5th pedal tour.)

I guess it was worth the wait!
To be honest, I re-read all the "clues" and caught on your "no guess pepe?". I was like IT'S PEPE. What pedal does Pepe like? Korgs of course OH WAIT KORGS ARE BLACK. Googled "Korg Overdrive" and here was the "Out Level" I had been searching for on Google images.
Nice looking clone there Pepe!

Well I had to read through the messages a few times before it caught my eye (and I had to double-check if Pepe had already sent a pedal... Considering the amount left and he still wasn't a Secret Santa, it only made sense).

Here is a photo of the clone and the original pedal:
The KORG OVD-1 has become my absolute favourite overdrive pedal for guitar and it has surpassed the OD-2R. The latter is still great and the best overdrive for organ and synthesizer, so I'm still in love with the yellow cousin.
The OVD-1 is horribly expensive these days. Prices are usually over 300$. The circuit is fairly simple (but effective, as laurie says). It is built around the JRC 4558DV. I had a few of these on a board of a broken synthesizer (KORG DW-6000) that I use for spare parts. I have the original printed service manual and the circuit looked easy enough for my humble soldering skills. Our dear member nathanscribe helped me a bit, so it worked right on the spot. The layout for the circuit board is my own creation:
This was my son's awesome design for the 3D printed faceplate. Unfortunately it didn't work in the way we hoped so I had to use a simpler design.
