Thanks for the reminder, Laurie! I'd say we should begin with our search for a nice present really soon. Anyone else want to join the Christmas tour? :D

So far we have the following participants:

Admin (DarrinPA)
chromandre
Dirk
fuzzbuzzfuzz
Gasgano
Joske Turbo
Laurie
Pepe
sclitheroe

Maybe we should decide soon who is sending a pedal to who? That makes it easier to be on the lookout for a nice one.

I have another idea. How about that: the recipients don't know who is going to send a parcel to them. I could ask each participants to which member they want to send their parcel.

I will start a new thread for the tour in the next hours/days.

In our family, we make a secret pick... electronically because of distance.

My brother has designed an easy algorithm that you provide Name and e-mail to and it automatically sends an e-mail to every participant with

YOU'VE PICKED XYZ.

We could probably put our addresses in there so we can actually send the package without having to request to send the package (which would ruin the surprise). He can actually deal with restrictions (couples cannot give a gift to each other, grandpa cannot pick mom because she shops for him, etc.).

We can probably use that. If i get very e-mail and address, we can work this out easily.

Okay, since noone said that he's against the idea, I think we should do the following:

 Every participant sends me a private message with his address that I will forward to the unknown sender. (If someone wishes that I delete the message with the address after forwarding it to the sender, I will do that.)
 The senders can tell me beforehand if they already know to whom they want to send their Christmas parcel. (If someone has no preference, then I will choose someone for him.)
 Please tell me if you're not able/willing to send or receive an overseas parcel.

I like the random thing, but I think that it's not the best solution in our (international) case.

Any more suggestions? :)
