NJM4558D opamps will be discontinued...

This means that no new designs using our favorite NJM4558D opamps in a couple of years.

Well, these are on the market for around 50 years, so that was a very long life-span. But still ...

Interesting. I wonder how the “M” and “C” variants they will continue to manufacture sound?

Side note: I see already a hierarchy appearing in used sales of TS and SD-1s based on the specific 4558 chip installed with the more sought after chip variant commanding the higher price (presumably related to age dating the pedal AND sound).

I just grabbed 250 of them, just in case they are in short supply in the future.
