I understand the frustration about the picture size, however, I don't know the total capacity of the forum's webspace. Much higher values might be great at first, but I don't know how long it will last. I will have to discuss it with our admin.

I think it isn't about how much storage the forum has - the issue would be solved if we could "drag and drop" any size pic and it would be auto-sized by the system.

Is that functionality available?

Back in the BA days forums were very common, Not so much today. It's probably been a few months since i've logged into here. This site would probably be better as a facebook group

Maybe. But finding old, but relevant information in a facebook or Instagram account is (for me) a p.i.t.a.

One issue i see is that there isn't enough users on this site. I don't think 550 users is enough. I last logged in on 5/11/26 it's been a whole day and there wasn't one new/unread post for me. The newest member joined on 5/11/26 and hasn't posted. I wish i could do more to help, but i feel forums are just dying.

If you think back at the early BossArea Forum days, there have been a lot of peaople asking for advice how to place a pedal in a chain, how to properly power BOSS pedals, etcetera. These days you can ask Google Gemini or ChatGPT and receive your answer within seconds instead of hours or days.

Times are changing.

Still, forums are very important sources for those A.I. models, because they are like libraries that they can rely on. If forums like ours vanish, lots of useful information will be lost and A.I. models will start copying each other and hallucinate even more than they do today.

The most useful feature of a fourm over Instagram and FB etc, is that on those post sites, posts simply dissapere, swallowed in the void. There(s nno organisation and topics quickly spiral out and off topic.

On forums (and this one in particualr) topics and useful matters (technical repair tips) etc are well organised and accesible for many mnay years to come, sub-categorised, headed etc. That is the the main benefit, amonst others.

Facebook in particular, is almost a "garbage can" these days. Write down your thoughts (or angst <sigh> and throw them away! It's grafitti on a wall versus texts in a library.
