GT-1 Global BPM??

Hey guys,
I just got a GT-1 multi-effects.
The only thing I can't figure out is how to "keep" the tempo when switching between patches.
If I tap in a BPM for the delay, it forgets it the second I switch patches.
Certainly, there must be a way to tap in the BPM and have it retain it until switched off?
Right now if I want to switch between a clean and dirty sound, but keep the delay, it's not possible.
