Bought an EQ-200 today. Was hoping it would be "good". It is excellent.

HNPD, Laurie!

What made you opt for the EQ-200 over a GE-7? Was it the greater tweakability with the 10 band EQ, extra functionality (presets, midi control etc), something else?

10 band and presets. I have an EHX B9 that likes a specific EQ curve and level to work properly, and those settings don't work for anything else really. So having a few presets allows me to use it for the B9 when I need to, and use a "normal" curve otherwise.

The footprint isn't much bigger than a GE-7.

I'd been looing for a good used one for months, and one finally came up over the weekend :D

It sounds ideal for that 8-)

I don't have an EQ pedal. Have often meant to pick one up but always seem to end up getting something else instead. Although I can EQ to my heart's content within my DAW, I think I would benefit from being able to remove/boost certain frequencies before they hit the rest of my effects chain, rather than try to fix things afterwards.

I'll do a bit more research to see if it would be worth my while opting for the EQ-200 over a GE-7.

I've had GE-7, GE-7B, GE-6, MXR 10 band EQ, Boss GE-10, and a Chinese (Caline) 10 band EQ that is a similar to the MXR 10 band EQ.

The EQ-200 "eats them all for breakfast". Tone/sound quality and flexibility. So much so, I'm on the lookout for another one.
