Might get a cool, early BF2!

Post by bigtone23 » Fri Jan 19, 2024 5:33 am

Have a lead on a November, 1980 BF2. Silver Screw, 10000 serial number, black label. Works great.
Fingers crossed, gonna check it out tomorrow. My current is a green label MIJ from exactly 9 years later, November, 1989.

Cool.

I have 2 of those with similar SNs. Compared to the Green Label MIJs I have owned, they have a fuller low end, rounder and warmer overall sound, and a bit more dry signal in the mix which makes the effect a bit less pronounced, particularly in the mids. Good luck with it.

I landed it!
Just gotta wait a month to pick it up-police hold.
The velcro is annoying. It's really stuck to the label. Will have to do some delicate surgery when it comes home.

Looking forward to the side by side comparison.
I picked up a LS2 so I can just put them in loops and not have them in series buffer mode.
I feel so YouTube pedal guy, without the videos... haha.

An alternative to risking the bottom label would be to keep an eye out for something on the cheap with a “use a coin” bottom label to swap and sell with a velcro bottom, something like an NF-1.

The BF-2 is one of the few early BOSS pedals that I really like very much.

What do you think of the HF-2 compared to the BF-2?

Oh... I didn't realize you didn't have one yet. I thought that story was from long ago...
