Ok. I haven`t heard about it before i did see that video. I have an Alesis SR-16 drum machine, I have to press very hard to get things to happen on the pads, can I use the q-tip with contact cleaner there to? I haven`t use it for years. I picked it up the other day to test it, it was unusable because of this.

But how would it explain that the LED is working again? Maybe during the cleaning process something (with a cold solder joint?) has been pushed into a correct position again so everything is working again?
But all the solder joints on the back are looking pretty good in this picture. And where do the small crumbles of metal come from?

Ok. Have done the meter thing now and when engage the capacitor as I call it Q8 D6 R51 or what the name It have. where the arrow is. It work when it is engage. I can to see tomorrow if I have time to check it out the hole box.

What I was asking for, was to set your meter to DC voltage, and take a measurement touching the probes on the metal legs at the tip of each arrow.
Do that measurement for the effect engaged, and also for the effect bypassed.

I did do that, then the meter did go from 0 up to 414 in DC when it was engage. I`m not so clever in English. sorry.

I have now checked again and the meter is fluctuating between 410 and 414. I checked the others and there are several that give no reading. Some I can't get to and measure directly on the pins (front side), so I have to measure them on the soldering iron (back side).

OK. 4.14V seems OK. I think this tells us a couple of things:
- The drive circuit for the LED is working.
- There is current flowing through the LED.
Based on this, I'd say the LED is failing. If it was on my bench I'd replace the LED and see what happens.

I have a distortion pedal from another brand that is gone. I can teach my self solder and take the LED from that pedal as I have learned to solder. I think I will do it like that.
For 30 years ago I did "just" bought a meter for in case. A friend did borrow it and destroyed the meter, I did bought a new one. I did learn to measure a amp tube thats it. Did shift tube yesterday.
