Post by Picatrix » Wed Nov 09, 2022 10:21 am

Hello!
Sorry for my bad english. I need some info about a pedal Boss ds-1 long dash silver Screw. I see inside a number, 8800.
Is it really old? How much could it cost?
I think to sell it.
Thanks!

Welcome! This is indeed a very old pedal. The serial number decoder says November 1979, so it is from the second year of production. I don't know the current prices for vintage long-dash single-screw DS-1s with the old circuit board and paper shield, but I bet some of our collectors might help you.

As Pepe already said, it is an early unit.

Prices fluctuates a little and recently I noted a small drop in the Japanese market, but the best thing to do is to research over ebay to see for how much they are really being sold outside Japan.

I would say something around 200 euros for an early unit in that condition is a fair price, but you can try a bit more to see if you get lucky.

If I find someone who agrees to spend € 200 plus shipping, I'll be happy to sell it! Thank you

Over Ebay i have found this:
I know this one, and it isn't a good exemple, it isn't a real silver screw, it is already a short dash so it should be a black screw.

Therefore, the price is way too high for a short dash, black screw late version.
