Just a curiosity, a simple chart I made displaying how many new models Boss released each year since 1977. (including the 40th Year Anniversary Box)

You're welcome guys.

Took the data from that models release chronology list I did.

On average, Boss releases 3.15 new models per year, but it's interesting to note that there's no clear pattern in it.

Some periods are easier to understand, like the 2 times the releases peaked to 9 new models, first in 1987 when they took the decision to move production to Taiwan, they probably shot out all projects they've being cooking at that time before the move, and in 2016 on the eve of the 40th anniversary.

Right after the move to Taiwan, there was a short period of calm before to kick the throttle again to 6 new "babies" in 1991, maybe to show the strength of the new home... And another 6 in 2021, this time being smart and taking advantage of the "stay at home" pandemic years.

Other periods are strange, like a whole decade of low releases between 1998 and 2008, when the world was in an economic growth (up until the 2008 crisis), Europe was consolidating the union and Euro currency... A time to increase the line to profit more, right?

Yeah, Boss is not easy to predict.

People focused on other things...? With 9/11 and associated uncertainty right in the middle.

You're welcome Laurie.

I forgot 9/11, it surely must have played a big role on that.
