Old GE-7 needs TLC

My ancient - 40 years old this month - GE-7 needs some love and attention. It sporadically refuses to switch on, either via battery or power supply, and it could do with the noise reduction mod, too. I haven't used it for a long time but I'm thinking about firing it up again if I can get it sorted out.

I know you can buy noise reduction kits but I don't know if they are any good and, in any case, I'm rubbish at soldering these days. I was never the best at it but now my eyesight is failing, I really don't trust myself on anything more complicated than a guitar cable.

It also needs a new spring for the pedal and some replacement slider caps.

Does anyone know of a reliable place I can send it to in the UK?

I could do it for you, but the postage to Canada and back is very expensive...

Maybe our member nathanscribe (located in North England) is able to help. He is quite inactive here, but you can also find and contact him through Instagram:

He does professional synth repairs and he repaired some effects units for me in the past.

Thanks for the replies, people. I'll see if there are any competent repairers nearby - Sheffield isn't far away - before I reach out further.

Found one on Facebook, based in Birmingham. Had a talk with him and I'll be sending the pedal for a once over.
