Re: Boss/Fender pedals
I had the FRV-1 for a while but it was too much of a one-trick pony for my liking. Went back to using the one-trick-pony reverb built into my amp.
I did notice the prices were up when I sold the FRV-1 last year. I think I got $250 for it from memory, which seems like a LOT, but I wasn't complaining.

Re: Boss/Fender pedals
In the meantime, Fender also released their own line of cheap pedals, followed by their more recent release of a number of higher-end pedals, so I doubt they'd lend their name to another manufacturer again.
I'm Boss could drop the FRV-1 algorithms into a pedal by a different name, if they wanted to, of course.

Re: Boss/Fender pedals
I was always intrigued about the collaboration with Fender for those pedals - the only other outside manufacturer to strike up a similar deal with Boss compacts has been JHS with the JB-2.
I'm sure the ST-2 Power Stack and BC-2 Combo Drive pedals, released after the Fender pedals, would have been more appealing if branded with a Marshall and Vox logos respectively. Does anyone know if Boss approached Marshall and/or Vox about these?

So the BC-2 is an AC30-sounding pedal?. Is it analog or digital, just wondering?. Never heard much about those.Feedbacker wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 7:41 pmI was always intrigued about the collaboration with Fender for those pedals - the only other outside manufacturer to strike up a similar deal with Boss compacts has been JHS with the JB-2.

The BC-2 certainly sounds like an AC30 through a clean Jazz Chorus amp. The tone gets more realistic the higher the drive is on the pedal. Great for punchy rhythm stuff.

Re: Boss/Fender pedals
I asked Roland/Boss in Sweden when these came out, and my contact there (the legendary Linda) about it. She wrote me that Boss had been in contact with both Marshall and Vox that resulted in a "No".Feedbacker wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 7:41 pmDoes anyone know if Boss approached Marshall and/or Vox about these?
If they could use those trademarks I suppose it would have been great for sales.
