Boss/Fender pedals
Boss/Fender pedals
I have noticed that the FRV-1, FDR-1 and FBM-1 are not manufactured anymore, and I´ve seen prices for them, used, quite high.
My suspicion is that the prices would go even higher, as there are many Boss and/or Fender collectors, those pedals was only manufactured for a couple of years, and at least FRV-1 is a really good reverb.
Opinions on that?

I should have bought them back then. I'm sure they are all quite good, especially the mentioned FRV-1. I tried the Bassman model at the Musikmesse once, but it wasn't the right surrounding to get a proper impression of the pedal's capabilities.

Oh, too bad. The FRV-1 is still on my "long time, oh I'll get it someday" list.
Re: Boss/Fender pedals
This is very timely as the FRV-1 made it onto my board for the first time at a gig last weekend. I like the reverb on my Fender Super Sonic but I needed something a bit different for a particular song and this pedal did it perfectly at rehearsals, so on it went. It’s an authentic sounding pedal for 50’s type reverbs.
Re: Boss/Fender pedals
Anyone know how the spring reverb in the RV-6 compares to the FRV-1?

Oh, good question! I'd like to hear the answer to that one. Also, how are the spring reverb modes of the RV-500?
Re: Boss/Fender pedals
I know, I've seen the FRV-1's listed for $300-400 on Ebay, I wish they would reissue that pedal, those prices are ridiculous.

Re: Boss/Fender pedals
I've had a FRV-1 on my board since the pedal was released, and yeah, prices are crazy!
Maybe things have changed recently (there seems to have been an explosion of reverb pedals the last couple years), but I don't think anything drips like the FRV-1 - and that's why I think it's value has gone up so much. Plenty of pedals have some drip to them, but the FRV-1 makes it a part of its mission to emulate the drip just as much as the verb.

I´m pretty sure Fender just allowed Boss to use the Fender logo/name for a limited space of time.
Possibly at around the time when some strats was named Roland-ready (some pickup for Rolands guitar synth).

Had the FRV-1 but sold it when I got an amp with reverb. Now I have need for one again so if anyone got one.... Loved that drip
