I dunno if this is fishing or represents reality.
Seems insane for a 1D PCB version.

Yeah, that guy frequently asks outrageous prices.

That's a lot more money than what I'd be willing to throw on a stompbox...

I have this feeling that I boarded the last train to collect Boss pedals.
I remember that there were so many silver screws and other rare models available around 8~10 years ago, and then they vanished.
The idea of collecting all silver screws from the first batch of production came after I realize that a few that I already had were from the first batch.
Today I think that I wouldn't have this idea, the prices are so high for them that I would only collect the most common variant of those models.

Yeah, but at least that was an early 14pin chip od-1.sebastien32 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 1:07 pmThis one sold for CAD$1000 not long ago... without a box!

I had 300 Boss compacts in the old collection... Including one of each silver screw.
Unloaded nearly 10 years ago at market rates ($200-$400 each). If only it had been clear back then that they would increase 5+ times in value.

Remember that guy on Ebay around 10 years ago, who literally bought every single OD-1, CE-2 and others?
I can't remember his name, but what if he's trying to sell them now at really high prices?

I think he was based in London and he sold them all off over a couple of weeks a few years back. I know because I bought something but I can remember what !

Prices are indeed shooting up, its about 60,000 yen ($600) for that era/chip OD-1 here in Japan. And BOSS fans in particular often want the lot!
And its probably cheaper than a WAZA TB-2! lol
Indeed to collect the Silver Screw and older models (as time has flown a few decades forward since I started) and to complete an entire BOSS collection from scratch would be an incredibly expensive venture starting today. Items such as the Digital Metalyzer , Dimension D and PN-2 have shot up in price. Yet conversely, with Facebook, Instagram etc the demand is ever higher and "pumped up" as is the nature of constant exposure to desirable things amongst peers on social media.
I personally used to draw the line at around $120 US per BOSS but realized this year that it was likely "Last chance saloon" with certain models as the prices continue to rocket (even with reissues) inc. in Japan too. BOSS collectors in particular are very keen for everything.
So on that note I breached the limit and now have two OD-1s, a silver screw CE-2/DS-1/TW-1/BF-2 and the most expensive of the lot, a VB-2 (the cheapest I could find but still pricey!). It's unlikely I'll get the rest but on the other hand if prices rise the potential to trade is still there and the pedals are for the most part a good investment as well as personally satisfying.
