All boxed up ! Please forgive me if I’ve posted this one before. Almost there - just a boxed Touch Wah to go :? It’s surprising just how little space this lot takes up in an Ikea ‘Billy’ bookcase :D

Of course, the TB-2W is missing and will remain so until the scalping frenzy is over ! :x

As I said before, I never cared about the boxes.

But after seeing your amazing collections I was forced to step up mine, and now I'm looking for units in even better conditions and with boxes.

Thank you all for that.

A pic of my boxes, only 90 out of 177 pedals. 😥

Ok, so I took a picture of it. I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple in this colour before. Maybe the earliest (1978/79) ds-1 cutout boxes were yellow, like this, or they faded extremely evenly? :ugeek:

Those Boss boxes are light burned (sun and artificial light) very easily.

Look at these ones that I have, a very extreme case.

Great collection Old_Iron and I plead guilty to fuelling the box urge :)

Some of the boxes I have are faded. For example, I have the two different versions of the DF-2 and one box is orange and the other one is yellow.

Thanks Doc.

And yes, you are guilty. 😁

I have several CD albums where the red colour of the text on the back has almost completely faded. That happened because the CDs were exposed to sunlight in our previous home. The same must have happened here.

Boss have a history of saving costs by cutting off small details that don't compromise quality, like the black paint in the back cover, washers in the back cover's screws, screws to hold the knobs, moving production to Taiwan, etc.

Would not surprise me to know that a cheaper kind of ink was used printing the boxes at one time or another.

By cheaper I mean a less resistant to fade over time.

Good night Danilo. What an amazing collection, I'm starting this journey of collecting Boss compact pedals, I was very interested to know where you made these shelves to store them, would they have the measurements? My name is Douglas and thank you so much for sharing your collection. SP_Brasil

Hello Douglas,

Thank you, and welcome to the Boss Area Forum.

The shelves are shoe racks, and I bought them from the "MadeiraMadeira" web site:

https://www.madeiramadeira.com.br/sapat ... eller-desc

They are almost perfect for Boss compact pedals, if they were a little bit wider to accommodate one more pedal per shelve, they would be perfect. As they are, you have to do some eye measurements to keep the space in between pedals even. :)

Some advice for your starting collection: It's better to buy from ebay Japan the vintage models, and from Mercado Livre the more modern ones, the prices here in Brazil are relatively good for the post 90's models.

Nice to have another "Brazuca" around.
