Hi guys, today I bought, used, a Boss BCB 30, I know most of us, named it useless, for the little amount of device it can be carry. But some other, like me, take it as a challenge. How can you have your sound, if you can reach only three pedals?
I play 2 Fender Stratocaster Am.Standard, one SSS one HSS through a Laney VC-15, and my choice going like this:
TU-2—SD1—MZ-2

(I’ve tried to upload images but somehow they are always too big to do it)

Back in my gigging days (a long time ago now), I used a BCB-3 as my pedalboard: HM-2 > CH-1 > DD-3

I did cheat slightly though as I had a Cry Baby sat next to it :)

I would go:

DA-2 -> HF-2 (to use as a chorus as well) -> DD3.

Pretty much covered. If I need some overdrive, I might replace the DA-2 by an OS-2, although my dirt of choice si DA-2.

I have a BCB 30, but I'm a bass player and maybe I don't need as much as a guitar player and I don't like modulations effects on my bass, I have SYB-3, FB-2, DD-7.

If I was a guitar player, I would take disto/modulation/delay : I would have a FZ-2 or DS-2, then probably a HF-2 or AW-2, and finaly a DD-something.

The one I really missing is the CH-1, I could replace the TU-2 with it, thanks Satan, my Strat stay in tune, and I can use a clip tuner on the headstock...🤔

My board for a festival this afternoon. I’ll also have a TU-3W and Keeley modded TS-9 before it. :D

Tele Custom and a Strat through a Fender Super Sonic.

yes, Wah is cool. I would have BOSS FW-3 or a George Dennis. I like my SYB-3 autowah mode but a real expression pedal is nice.

FZ-2. HF-2. RV-2.

But thats all if I get:
a clip on tuner,
an amp that sounds good and dirty compressed when cranked
and the DD-500 as looper only if thats not cheating!

Also the fact that I would not at all mind swapping for any of the boss flanger pedals, and any of the boss reverbs but I would only consider swapping FZ-2 for an HM-2.

I do like the BCB 30, it is small but you can add things to it, see how I add pedals. Do the same with the BCB 6G.
The one thing that is not good about the Boss pedal boards: You cannot use the space above the slots since nothing fits comfortably. In their adds they mention you can leave a power supply. When you do so you cannot close the lit. The space is already there, but they would have to redesign the board, since this means retooling and extra costs, they decided not to.
You have to use you own creativity to add more pedals to the board..................

Yep three pedals may be a little small.

Best sound is still one amp and one cable and one guitar, but you cannot beat the sound of some pedals so it is a.............compromise!!!
Enjoy!
