Hi guys.
I just picked up a boss BF-2 and it has an orange sticker on the back
I did notice that it’s ACA powered.
But I’m not sure what the Significance of the orange sticker is.
Does it just mean it was made in Taiwan?
Orange back sticker
Re: Orange back sticker
Take a look here: https://bossarea.com/boss-bf-2-flanger/
I don't know why they changed the color to orange, but is said that there is only one modification in the BF-2 circuit over time:
"The BF-2’s design remained virtually unchanged through its more than 20 year lifespan. The TL022CP opamp was replaced with the Sharp IR9022 opamp at some point but apart from that, the circuit remained unchanged."
EDIT:
I looked inside my BF-2s and this is what I found:
The Japanese ones have the Motorola TL022CP IC, both black and green labels.
The change to the Sharp IR9022 happened when they moved the manufacturing to Taiwan, so it's the green label Taiwanese the first to use that IC.
The reason to change to the pink and the orange labels (both made in Taiwan) remains a mystery to me.
The late dark gray label marks the switch to the PSA power supply.
