Re: A new Wazacraft pedal is on the way
Technically interesting... it uses standard PSA power (negative ground).
I wonder how they have solved the challenge of the germaniums needing positive ground?
- Have they manufactured NPN germaniums? Interesting if so...
- Do they have a DC-DC voltage converter (inverter) circuit in the pedal?
It appears they haven't manufactured NPN's so there must be a DC-DC converter. That would explain the voltage switch (and how they get 12V from a 9V PSA supply).
AND... it is powered from a regulated supply.
The circuit appears to be de-coupled from the power/battery so no battery sag, hence the manufactured sag using the switch.
I'm likely wrong, and the player reviews will be stellar. But. I dunno... this just feels less like something related to "soul", and more like something related to commercial interest.

I am NOT a fuzz guy, like, not at all. I like Distorsion...
But even I can tell this has nothing to do with soul. I mean, just looking at those knobs and lettering make me see it's all commercial crap. (I know, it's the original, but NOT ON A BOSS PLEASE MY OCD IS GONNA GO THROUGH THE ROOF).

I would like to know the estimated price tag. Do you already have some information about that?

I’m guessing (and it is no more than a guess) that this could be over £200.

no I think you are likely correct about the circuitry, the dunlop mini germanium fuzz faces for example have all this extra voltage and stabilization circuitry I don't see how any company could do a batch of 500 tone benders by simply measuring and selecting transistors.

Should be but isn't. My DM-2w wasn't made in Japan. It was inspected in Japan, though.

I'm not sure if they have moved the whole Waza Craft production to Japan. I think I've seen an MIJ DM-2W, but I could be wrong.
