the rumour is true, bf-2 was pink
this early bf-2 pedal is pink, the rumours are true. the box is pink too. i had to trim some photos because they were too large. I put the pink one next to a normal one, but again, I had to trim the image right back, I hope you guys can see.

it seems these are not hard to find, there's two for sale on ebay, maybe three - batch #'s 10200 and 10100 and 0300

It's probably sun burn or light burn.
These, in the pictures below, are my BF-2 pedals, the one at the far left (first picture) is the silver screw first batch, 9500, and as you can see, there is no big difference in the shade of... violet (I guess). edit: Purple
The only one I don't have is the pink label, made in Taiwan.

Well, that first one does seems a bit "off" from the others though, even looking at the thumbnail.
Don't get me wrong though: It doesn' t look pink at all to me, but definitely the shade was different (maybe the paint then was more subject to decoloration over time making it seem like some of the early ones have turned pink?) as the shade is different. It's clear to my eyes.
