Maybe the bigger 500 series pedals are not selling as well as they'd hoped, and they are trying to find the sweet spot for this style of pedal?

Whatever it is, this isn't the compact pedal space echo, nor the DS-1w I've been waiting for.

I think it's bringing the MS-3 technology and feel to smaller footprint individual pedals.

Not sure I like it.

I've never looked into these (because I don't think they are for me), but on something like the MD-200, can you stack the included effects? Or are you always choosing between say its phaser mode and its tremolo mode? Same with the dirt - can you stack the various gain modes?

I guess what I'm trying to figure out in my head is if four of these (dirt, modulation, delay, reverb) would, in effect, give you a pretty complete pedalboard?
