RE-202 looks like tons of fun. Congratulations!

The OS-2 isn't exactly one of my favourites, meaning: it doesn't provide that certain distinctive sound that I can only produce with this pedal. But it is a good workhorse. If space is limited you can easily dial in various solid sounds with an OS-2 as your only dirt pedal.
That's how I use my OS2 on my small board--as the catch-all. It's usually set as the classic low gain/high volume BOSS boost on the OD side of color for use with my crunchy amps. It's also pulled through for those occasional backline situations where I need to dial it towards the DS side when the amp doesn't crunch right or is just a clean channel and I need to lean on the pedal to get my grit.

Nice haul, Pepe. I keep meaning to pick up an OS-2. What do you think of it?
On a 3-pedal board (like a BCB-3), that would be my dirt because it's kind of a "jack-of-all-trades". I remember there being a topic on "build your 3-pedal board" but I don't remember if it was here or on Stompbox Zone. It's not my #1 choice, but it's the one I'd use if I was limited to only one.

I am actually looking for a used one over here but they are so, so expensive now.

I ended up with the Behringer clone of the OS-2 (the OD100). It seems OK, and *way* less expensive.

Haha! That's kind of funny. The OS2 was such a 'Red Headed Stepchild' of the BOSS world for so long that I picked mine up for $20 about 15 years ago. I had a friend that gave his to a younger player just to get rid of it and see it get some use! I'm glad it's getting it's due now.

The OS-2 is expensive now? There's a few of them listed on my local classifieds for the asking price of $75 to $100 Canadian. That's only like 50 or 75 bucks US...

I paid mine about 40$ CAD back when I had one. My brother still has one he paid 50$ CAD for. He's a drummer, but when he fiddles on guitar that's his only dirt pedal and it works fine.

Now, I can barely get one for 80$ on classifieds and it's beaten to the core.

It's pretty much the same on the German used market. The DS-2 has also ridiculously increased price-wise.

I guess it's relatively expensive now. They were unsellable for a long time, easily found for $20-30, if not given away for free. Once the "Great BOSS Rediscovery/Renaissance happened, the OS2 became a $75 pedal.

Same thing happened with the SD2 Dual Overdrive. Horribly overlooked. Now it's in demand.

Picked up an RC-3 today for USD$80. Well used - paint is pretty well chipped - but works 100%
