Wow that looks spectacular Pepe! Great score.
I had completely missed the sudden rise in price of those units, they are needles in haystack here in Japan now!

Re: New BOSS pedals!
Yesterday I received a parcel from Japan:
I had a PS-2 twelve years ago. I somehow missed its lo-fi sounds. It's awesome to fiddle around with it again!
I immediately heard that this is a unit from the first months of production, because it had the high frequency noise as all the early units. I swapped an electrolytic capacitor and added two mylar capacitors according to the original service manual, so now it sounds just as good as the later units.
I'm a bit on a shopping spree recently. I'm going to redo some of my oldest demo videos soon. BF-2, MZ-2, PS-2 and a few more.

Very nice
Re: New BOSS pedals!
I tried and tried to convince myself that I wasn’t going to buy these… who the hell was I kidding !
They do look good though. And, it’s added fire to my urge to find a secondhand TB-2W too ! I guess I just can’t kick this habit !

What the world waited for: silver screw Metal Zones!
Re: New BOSS pedals!
Now is my time to make your words mine Doc.
I already bought the MT-2 3A and have the SD-1 4A and the HM-2W ordered from Japan.
Didn't try the MT-2 3A yet, but cracked it open and saw the tragedy, it is all SMD stuff inside.

Re: New BOSS pedals!
I bought a used anniversary DS-1 4A a couple of years ago. No box or papers... just the bare pedal.
It is the only DS-1 that I own because I really dislike the coarseness of the sound of them - I unloaded the 6 variations of the DS-1 that I used to own a long time ago.
Anyway, I did the SEM mod on it to make it usable, including drilling the hole in in "o" in "Tone" for the LED. Do I regret modding one of these pedals? For my use, not at all. With the mod it made it onto my board. The kids might not thank me when they are clearing out my estate in the distant future...
The SEM mod does make the DS-1 sound pretty good to my ear

So I'm not alone! I was never able to bond with the sound of the DS-1.

Controversially, I love the DS-1. Not for everything but it's good at what it does. At least it's not the horrible old MXR Distortion+, which, IMO sets the standard for bad sounding distortion boxes.

Re: New BOSS pedals!
After being sad when first announced because I missed the 10 minute timeframe when you could pre order.
On Monday I read someone’s story on tgp about how he/she found a tb2w in a shop for retailprice last weekend and ordered it.
I did what I have done before, check the local NL stores and what do you know. 1 for sale at retail price with a discount coupon.
So much luck and it sounds great. For shoegaze sounds. And it is really something different from the previous Boss fuzzes.
