I’m down this rabbit hole a long way
In a very quiet voice... "it's not madness... it's not... must remember that Laurie had nearly 400 pedals at the height of his collecting, so I'm OK... I'm OK... I'm OK..."

Finally ! I found a DS-1 from 1980 with a thumb cut box ! There’s a nice bit of box candy with it too. This one is a milestone for me as it is my 200th Boss pedal :)

The question now is do I keep the gig dust on it or clean it up ?

Congrats Doc! I see your box has a two tone colour scheme, leading me to believe that the originals were indeed orange; but some have faded to yellow if exposed to UV light.
That seems to clear up why my cut-out (1978) DS-1 box is yellow (albeit on all 4 sides)... :ugeek:

Still looking for a cut-out CE-2 box for my 1979 CE-2... Please and thank you. ;)

The MZ-2 arrived two days ago. It is in very good shape and came with the box. I had an MZ-2 long before I purchased my tube amp. The pedal sounds so much nicer through a proper amp!

Beautiful unit, congrats Pepe.

The MZ-2 is a hidden gem in the Boss compact pedal line.

Thank you! I forgot how nice the metallic black paint looks in real life. And of course it really shines in stereo, although the chorus is really subtle through headphones with 100% wet sound on both channels.
