RC3 Issue: Loop Stopped Screen Was Blinking DL or DA....

Has anyone of you had that be: Looped disappeared after a while and the screen was blinking with a message. It was either DL or DA, which stands for a fault of some sort.

My guess is there was a millisec of change of power in the grid, nothing else stopped working but my loop disappeared and the music I was playing with was gone. I did think it was funny but also a little bit of a mystery as what it could be.

Been using this pedal for a few weeks, up and till now, no failures of this sort.

Let us hope it is a one-off, a digital glitz or anything of that kind.

The pedal was working on its own powersupply, and about three or four overdubs were being used at the time.
I had been playing with the loop for quite some before this happened, maybe an hour or so, so the fault did not happen straight away. /

The music I played was quite eerie and haunting, then all of a sudden a silence, hence me thinking it was funny, but still also a little annoying...

Oh well, maybe anyone of you has had something like this before.

Anyway, thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts and experiences!

That's what Google says:

Boss RC-3 error messages point to common issues like low battery (bt), full memory (FL), unplayable files (UF), inability to overdub (EF), or internal memory corruption (Er, dN) requiring a format or factory reset; fixing them usually involves managing imported WAV files (must be 16-bit, 44.1kHz) or performing a system initialization via a specific button combo when powering on.
Common Error Codes & Solutions

  • bt: Low Battery. Replace the battery.
  • FL: Memory Full. Delete unneeded loops or import/export loops to clear space.
  • UF: Unreadable/Unsupported File. Imported WAV files must be 16-bit, 44.1kHz; convert incompatible files (MP3s, high-res) using software like Audacity.
  • EF: Error Further Overdubbing. Often a firmware bug or memory issue; updating firmware or a factory reset might help.
  • Er / dN: Memory/System Malfunction. Indicates internal memory corruption; requires formatting or factory reset.

Maybe it was "FL"?

Could be, I did not put reading glasses on.....

What puzzles me is that I did not do anything unusual: Did create a loop and several overdubs, played with it and all of a sudden silence.... and yes the blinking LED.

I did check afterwards to see if pedal functioned as normal, by looping something, overdubbing etc. and all was as expected.

Maybe something to do with fact I had played so long and not saved the loop. I had no intention to save the loop. Just made it, played with it, and over and done with, off the the next bit of music.

The FL would not make sense, because I have saved four little pieces out of ninety empty slots . So plenty of space left for storages on any of the other slots.
You never had something like that with your RC3 since you use it also regularly.?

No, not at all. It works as it should. I had around 80 loops (or one-shots) stored on it for a few times.
