Good to see some larger dual concentric controls rather than the awkward little things we’ve had up to now !
I like this one but I still haven’t quite got the Uni Vibe clone I’ve been craving

That was about time! It's a shame that they discontinued the RT-20 so many years ago without a follow-up model or a compact pedal like this one.
Stereo inputs and outputs, a dedicated speed jack ... every important thing is in there, even the hypnotizing LED gimmick!

I might be buying one, if it turns out to sound even better than the Twin Pedal. But maybe it is just the same COSM circuit apart from the Uni-Vibe mode that seems to be missing - as well as the knobs "Rise Time" and "Balance" (for the horn and bass speakers). "Rise Time" proved to be very useful in all the years that I'm using the big unit. But maybe there are hidden features?

Aha! There is a switch on the back for two Rise Time speeds. And apparently the Drive knob on the top works as a bass/horn balance if you switch the other knob. Cleverly done!

Nice! I think someone predicted/hoped for this a while back.
Doesn't look like it's going to be cheap though - £229 at Andertons in the UK (currently in stock).

There's an interview with the one of the team who developed the pedal on Boss's website:
Fundamentally, the RT-2 and RT-20 have totally different algorithms. We have revamped the DSP engine, and the sound is much improved. The RT-20 was developed over 20 years ago, so DSP technology, CPU power, and modelling methods are now better. We can now reproduce detailed behaviours thoroughly without worrying about DSP resource.
We began researching and developing a more three-dimensional rotary sound based on a real Leslie 122 speaker. An engineer created numerous DSP algorithms, but it was proving difficult to perfect the sound, and the DSP power required was massive.
For a while, it seemed nobody knew how to solve the issue. Gradually, engineers moved on to different projects, but I started looking at the algorithms and documentation again.
Ultimately, smaller DSP technology allowed us to revisit the rotary sound for this compact pedal. We made considerable efforts to create better algorithms without losing the essential elements of the original Rotary Ensemble pedal, the RT-20.
To enhance the RT-2’s three-dimensional stereo sound, we modeled a Leslie 122 in our anechoic chamber at the Roland headquarters using a pair of high-quality, flat-response microphones. We experimented with various angles and set them at the position that captured the best dynamics.

Nice! Probably won't dislodge my Strymon Lex, but good to see something new like this.

Very good information, BearBoy!
