CE-2!

completely works, I was hoping for more of a surprise but it was fairly obvious since there are so many blue parts that the listing didn't show, anyhow can't complain I got a $40 CE-2!

Cool! At least something that you hoped that it would be. And not an SP-1. ;)

Very clean circuit board and solder joints!

What's in the battery compartment? Serial number or batch stamp number intact? From the look of the circuit board I would normally guess that it is from the mid/late '80s, but I only know that rectangular piece of foam from earlier Japanese BOSS pedals.

unfortunately that battery compartment serial number sticker was painted over as well! I tried to carefully scratch it but the numbers are missing

thanks! Yea, so the condition being what it is, (there is also a phone number scratched into side of the shell Image) I think it would be OK to do a few careful mods. So I did the 9V conversion and I got the rate just a little faster , and the depth just a little deeper, nothing crazy but I do need that faux leslie trick which my BF-2 can no longer nail since I converted it to an HF-2. I'll be repainting the CE-2 and actually putting it to use.

Very cool!
Doing some practical mods is a great use for it!

When I had the Frankenstein FZ-2 at home I tried to remove the blue colour of the CH-1 chassis with a chemical paint stripper. It just didn't work! But removing old lacquer coats on a door or on that old KORG CX-3 organ that was once amateurishly painted black worked like a charm!

Maybe you can use paint stripper on this CE-2 and with some luck the old colour remains intact.

The JRC4558D chip is from 1981, so this is likely an '81 or '82 CE-2. :geek:
