New BOSS pedals!
Re: New BOSS pedals!
Congrats on the new VB-2 Doc
Although it is maybe a bit greedy having three

Ha ha ! Thanks BearBoy. Always good to have backups
Re: New BOSS pedals!
Oh yeah, don't get me started on multiples.
It's insurance.
It's ensuring you have every variant.
It's not having enough of that bold VB blue, PH green, or DC lilac.
It's not hoarding.
It's normal.
It's fine.
This is fine..

Ha ha ! That could be me explaining it to Mrs The_Doc !
Re: New BOSS pedals!
I get a SYB-5 yesterday. Will be in my mailbox within a week or so.
What could I say ? I do like the SYB-3 much, much more than SYB-5. With its analog sounds straight from the '70s Roland SH-series waveforms, to me the SYB-3 is a tiny-essential Roland synthesizer. I had the SYB-5 from 2004 (just when it came in my local shop) untill 2016 (when I had to sell it in order to buy something else). Desapointed by the sounds, but there are few very good things in the SYB-5 I really miss : the LFO is incredibly powerful and SYB-3 doesn't have LFO ; the Pulse 2 waveform can be used as an electronic voice ; the Wave Shape is different from the SYB-3 because it is more straight forward but not worst or better and that's interesting. So, OK, let's give it a try again, I need different sounds on board and I know the SYB-5 very well : more plastic and creaky than the analog-like SYB-3, but I'm involved in an Industrial Rock band wich I love, and I think those sounds can be great, mixing, for exemple, fat Saw from the SYB-3 and LFO madness from the SYB-5. I will also dig up my DD-7 that I tended to let in the drawer to add long sequencing waves or light reverb with the synthesizers sounds. And finaly I'm happy to have another synth with different colors.
I will post picts of my new pedalboard in a few days,
. from SYB-3 -> SYB-3 -> FB-2
. to SYB-3 -> SYB-3 -> SYB-5 -> FB-2 -> DD-7

Re: New BOSS pedals!
Congratulations Kulten. It sounds like this will be a great addition to your pedalboard.

Re: New BOSS pedals!
I have the very same feelings towards the SYB-5. I haven't played too much with it, since I bought it off from formerly_bossarea.
Re: New BOSS pedals!
A special new pedal day for me and I wanted to share it with my friends here which is my spiritual home when it comes to a Boss pedals.
This is a boxed (thumb cut), SP-1 Spectrum from September 1980, complete with instructions.
It’s a special one for me because, after years of collecting these things, this is the final piece of the jigsaw which is a complete collection of boxed Boss compact effects pedals. Another life goal ticked off I guess More pix to follow, but for now, here is the SP-1 that arrived today.

The box has some patina but the pedal looks mint! Is it just an illusion?
