Re: NPD
This one is 2005, so "not special"
But it sounds just like a BD-2, and I haven't had one for many years. It will go on the board.
You met fuzzbuzzfuzz? Very cool. So far I've met two members IRL. Always a great experience.

It's cool to actually meet people you have interacted with for years online. Putting a face and experience to an avatar. Good stuff!
A Mega Distortion and BD2, those two can cover some ground for dirty tones!
I played a MD2 once, found it can pretty much do my thing (a Marshall-y thing) into a clean amp. Gain boost off, dist set noon or lower and tone in the middle area. It has a lot of gain and low end. Was pretty cool with bass, too.
I got a $15 BD2 many years ago because it worked with a battery, but needed a new reverse polarity protection diode. Easy Peasy. Also installed a green LED just because I had one laying around. Liked how it sounded, but looked at a Keeley Phat Mod diagram and was curious... Didn't bother with all of the component changes, just went for the main aspect of the mod: the switch and 68nF (maybe 82nF?) cap parallel to C100 for bigger low end. I really like that, play it in fat mode all the time.

Re: NPD
After a full clean, plus replacement of the "Gain" pot on the MD-2 - it had been dropped and the shaft was irreparably bent.
Hadn't thought about doing any mods. I'll do a bit of research and see what makes sense
Also picked up a Crybaby 105Q as part of the deal. I don't need a bass wah, but part of the deal, so all good!
