I feel like I shouldn't have parted with either of my HM-2's - I didn't really know what to do with them at the time, and I think now they would make a nice contrast to my usual dirt.

Let's turn this around too, though - which pedals have you kept that you are absolutely glad you did?

For me, that's:

- the FRV-1, rather than thinking a boutique pedal would outperform it. It's been on my board since 2009!
- the TE-2, just because I enjoy messing around with it more than I'd enjoy selling it. Does one thing, but nothing else does that thing
- the OD-1X - sometimes I love it, mostly I can't stand it. But what would I do if I was in a love phase and didn't have it? Very much a part time board member, but those one week stands..man oh man!

Wow that's really the first time I hear that one as a favorite. That's very cool. Liked the pedal, just couldn't find a use for it with the other pedals I already had.

As far as turning things around, I could NOT lose my BB-1X. It's what I always looked for in a bass driver. No noise, great dirt, easy to dial to what I want it to sound like, really a workhorse on my bass board.

The MZ-2 is a discontinued unit, that can make much noise, if used in the wrong pedal chain. But when you start to understand how to make it work, you’ll never let it out. I bought 3, but whenever I’ll find one I’ll buy it again and again 🤩 (I know I’m mad Pepe knows)

Sclitheroe, that's a good idea for a new thread! You should start it up :D We need as many new topics as possible to grow!

I have my first SYB-3 since 1996, followed me everywhere, it's my first real synthesizer and I spent so much time playing with it.

I think I would never let go now my FB-2 I picked up one year ago, and I wouldn't believe at the time it became so important in my pedalboard.

Definitely my DC-2. I paid $40 way back when, and there was another identical one I passed on at the time. If I had only known then what I know now.

And my MIJ DD-3. I've got a Taiwanese-made DD-3 and it just doesn't sound the same.

I would like to grab another PS-2. That's a funny model.

All the other pedals that I missed at some point after selling them are again in my collection (plus they are in better optical condition).
That was six years ago. In the meantime I have bought and kept a few other BOSS pedals that I have had at some point:

BF-2 (MIJ)
DF-2
DS-1 (long dash, silver screw, NOS)
MZ-2
OS-2
PS-2

Plus a few that I haven't had before:

FRV-1
OC-2
PH-1
SD-1

The only one that I really regret selling is the original VB-2, especially because it was an ultra-cheap purchase and a mint looking pedal. We really needed the money when I sold it, but it still hurts when I think about it.

Should have bought them when they were cheap:

FZ-3
HF-2

I picked up an original VB2 a few years ago because it was clean looking and $200 (I think--if it was much more than that, I wouldn't have gotten it). Do I ever use it? Sometimes, I like it through an amp and blend in another clean/dry amp (or use the LS2) for an alt chorus thing.

The FZ2 and HF2 also slipped by and I regret not getting them when they were a screaming deal.

I regret selling off my original BOSS board that I assembled as a 13-14 year old kid.
BCB6, PSM5, SD1, DF2 (Spr Dist-Fdb original version), CE3, BF2, DD2, TU12H.
I still have that same TU12H, and replaced most of the rest (not the CE3, but do have a CE2, among many other BOSS choruses). Having all of the exact ones that I got 40-41 years ago would be sentimentally cool. Plus, it would still a usable pedalboard today.

I edited my posting. I have a mint and boxed FZ-2 that I love! I meant the FZ-3.
