All the different DD-3 models

I have a DD-7, wich is great, I feel it sounds good, but an output screw needs to be fixed, factory mistake...
Sometimes I love my DD-7 for all the features (and the sampling function), sometimes I miss a "simple" DD-3 thinking "why should I need more".

last time I checked, I'm pretty sure the large style 9V adaptor jack indicates long chip, I could be wrong. I have 2 long chip DD-3 I haven't gotten around to repairing, its the perfect sounding delay. Digitech PDS delays are close to the same sound.

AH yes, remind me in the mountain of repair boxes I have a perfect DD-3 Long chip waiting on repair!

Interesting topic.

I'd count the PS-2 as one of the better "analogue" feel BOSS delays, whopping 2secs that gets quite gritty and lo-fi.

DD-3 Long chip - grab and go reverb sub or delay (Feed to semi dirty amp!
DD-7 - always on Reverse mode on the board, can sub for anything else that crops up
DD-5 - has the weird circuit error that adds highs, thus gets a little Tape echo in the repeats..
DD-2 - When you have to show off your collecting suss

Personally I definitely prefer the circuit with the big chip and the more lo-fi sound, as so many others do. I have had a Taiwanese model with the square chip and its delays simply sounded too clean and perfect.

I do prefer the "cold" DD-3, love this digital and straight feeling and sound.

I was going to mention the PS-2 as well. I probably have done A/B tests in the past between DD-2 and PS-2 but in reality the PS-2 is another one with that Lo Fi sound.

I believe both the DSD-2 and DSD-3 do have the same sound as the DD-2. Maybe similar chip ?not sure
