Returning guitarist trying to learn a lot. I have a Boss RC3 looper. I have downloaded some loops from the Boss site. I have a Stratocaster. Right now I am just going in and out of the pedal.....now other effects in the chain. The loops I downloaded are so hot in comparison to the input of my Strat. I am literally rocking the loop knob from zero and the db of the audio is extremely loud. When I run the Strat in, I have to have to rhythm knob cranked to match the output of the loop. My pots are also maxed out.
I guess that hard way would be to take the .wav files from boss and lower the db in a sound editor and reimport. Are there additional setting on the RC3 for output that I am missing to lower the db of audio backing tracks after they are imported?
Thanks in advance.

Re: RC3 Loop Mixing volume issue
Welcome to the forum!
I also believe that editing the wav files is the way to go. The factory loops of the RC-20XL that I had years ago were very, very loud as well. I also suppose that they are maximised on top. Nothing that you could easily use to play your guitar to. Maybe synthesizer or keyboard with really hot signals.
Whenever I export wav files from my RC-3 to the PC, the volume of my guitar loops (mostly one-shots) is super-low.

Re: RC3 Loop Mixing volume issue
I will export a few at different db and see what works. I guess loopers are are set up for input from the guitar as a source, you you can over dub the same input and make slight changes to the mix.
Thanks. Learned what I need to know.
