The Boss Book

Post by Old_Iron » Thu Dec 24, 2020 10:30 pm

Hey guys, does anyone knows if there is a PDF version of the Boss Book that could be downloaded ?

It's almost 30 years old, is it still under copyright?

I really want an e-copy of it.

If somebody have a digital copy that could send me thru email or want to negotiate it for a reasonable price, I would appreciate.

Thanks.

Well, not exactly 30 years, since it features the PH-3, which was introduced in 2000. I don't think there is a legal pdf version, since it's a standard music book by the publisher Hal Leonard.

Hi Pepe, you're right about that, I thought it was from 1991.

There is a guy selling one hard copy here in Brazil, and it is very cheap compared to the prices we've seen at ebay, but I tried to purchase it and he suddenly tripled the price for the shipment, besides that he is advertising it for a very long time, years now, and nobody bought it yet, it's very suspicious.

He is asking less than US$ 100.

Anyway, I really would like to have it...

Just got it.

Bought from the guy here in Brazil, gave him another chance cause he was a known member of the SBZ forum.

Reading here some past threads, I found the archives from the SBZ (Thank you Pepe) and in it there's one thread about the book, where a brazilian guy named GugaRamone said he bought the book in 2012 for ~ US$ 30,00.

Eight plus years later, he sold it to me for ~ US$ 90,00, it's an investment.

So, now that I have the sacred scriptures, I feel like I'm in the priesthood.

It's a great book. Hopefully they'll bring out an updated version one day.

In a few years that book might be worth over 200$, so it might really be an investment. ;) Guga Ramone has always been a good guy. I think the price is okay in comparison what other sellers take for the book.

Old Iron, have you got a copy of the Guitar Player magazine guide to Boss pedals?

If not, there's a link to the PDF in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=78

There are a few for sale at about that price already Pepe.

This one that I bought is like brand new, very "stiff".

I remember reading about that book soon after I joined this forum a few years back.

I got my copy from Amazon back when they were still priced reasonably.

It I had known then what I know now, I would have purchased two copies so that I could cut the binding off of one of them to scan it to a .pdf file.

It's a decent book, but as others have noted, it is outdated.

Outdated, indeed. The original Japanese edition was published in January, 2002.

Time for a revised and updated edition, Boss? Waza Craft, 20 series, 500 series, 200 series.........
