Here is the Yamaha amp that I'm still looking for ........

Yamaha RA-200R

Yamaha rotating horn combo amplifier.
Vintage "Leslie effect" keyboard amp.
Specifications:
Controls: Volume, bass, treble, reverb, tremolo speed, tremolo control (foot pedal or hand switch), voice on/off, tremolo/chorus.
Other fittings: pilot lamp, power switch, input jack, external speaker socket.
Speakers: 4 x JA3502A 12" cone driver plus 3 x JA1701B rotary horn driver.
Amplifiers: 3 x ND90G 90W solid state amps (1 for horns & 2 for 2 each 12").
Total output power: 200W rms
Dimensions: 1156 (H) x 735 (W) x 490 (W)
Weight: 93kg
Finish: Grey leatherette, black grill cloth, aluminium trim.
Power requirements: 100/117/125/220/240V
Power consumption: 500W

Just like the other Yamaha RA amps, this one have all the controls placed on the rear side giving easy control for the organ grinder while the speakers face the audience.
The RA amps are also used by guitar players, and the RA-200R was used by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd on Comfortably Numb and other tracks of that era.

Yamaha RA-200 Image
Like many guitarists in the late sixties and early seventies David’s secret weapon in creating his magical tone was blending his Hiwatt amps with rotating speakers.
The effect can be heard on many Floyd recordings and was an essential part of David’s live tone between 1971-83 and again in 1994.

Yamaha Digital Transistor Amps

Post by Buzzard » Tue Aug 21, 2018 9:10 pm

The DIGITAL transistor amps:

The ECM (Electric Circuit Modeling) technology is the result of the Yamaha longtime experience in digital signal processing.
It combines a realistic tube amplifier sound (based on virtual modeling) with advanced programming and MIDI control functions.

Some years ago, Yamaha introduced the DG series products on the market: the firstborn was the DG1000, a programmable pre-amplifier.
It has been projected to be matched with external effects and power units.

In a very short time the DG lineup grew up including the DG80-112 (80-watts, Celestion "G12H-100" 12-inch speaker x 1)
and DG100-212 (100-watts, Celestion "Vintage 30" 12-inch speakers x 2) combo amps and the DG130H (130 watt) head.
All models feature a solid state power unit to amplify the sound generated by the digital simulation section at the required volume and in linear mode.
Moreover, the DG models include reverb and delay effects. The DG-series models are equipped with motorized knobs for a more quick and user-friendly operativity. The DG-Stomp integrates the same DG-line amp technology, but it is not equipped with motorized controls.

The new "A" DG Model series is an upgrading of the previous models and provides chorus and tremolo effects. The new DG80-210A model is equipped with two 10-inch speakers. It can also be stacked with an optional S112 speaker to provide a more effective full range tone.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yamaha DG Guitar Amps.
In 1998, Yamaha introduced the DG Series of guitar amps.
In just over two years, the brand has made a strong entry into the "digital modeling" amp market with several models.
The DG series is comprised of the DG100-212 (100 watts and two 12-inch speakers), DG80-210 (80 watts and 2 10-inch speakers),
DG80-112 (80 watts and two 12-inch speakers in individual enclosures), and DG130-H (130 watts and 4 12" speakers).

3.) Drive 1 - Fender Bassman

Yamaha DS-60 112
Powered speaker cabinet with no effects.

The DS60-112 Powered Speaker is equipped with a built-in 60-watt amplifier and a single 30cm Celestion speaker.
Connecting a DG-Stomp, DG-1000 or other pre-amplifier to the DS60-112 creates a 60-watt guitar amplifier system.
Adding a DS60-112 to a DG60FX-112 creates a stereo guitar amplifier system.
Also, the SLAVE OUT jack allows the connection of a second (or multiple) DS60-112 making it possible to create a 120W or 180W system.
The DS60-112 can also be used to upgrade existing guitar amplifier systems.

Yamaha Bass amps

Post by Buzzard » Tue Aug 21, 2018 9:10 pm

So far I've only tested and owned 3 , well almost 3 Yamaha bass amps.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yamaha YBA-65: the quiet giant.

Image Image

The amp itself sounds good, but isn't even loud enough for a piano bar unless you use a booster/preamp/distortion pedal to raise the input signal.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yamaha B-100 with a Yamaha J-110L (115L) cabinet.

Image Image

This one is a keeper. :D

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the "almost" third bass amp, the Yamaha THR-10 :

Image

It actually makes a good clear bass amp, without shaking your gut and butt, after all the two 3,5" speakers don't shake the house at only 2x5watts.
Neighbor friendly too. ((i))

Yamaha DG amps

Post by Buzzard » Tue Aug 21, 2018 9:11 pm

The Yamaha DG amps were state of the art Digital Guitar amps before the millenium.
Today the yamaha THR amps have taken over, much more versatile, and they can connect to PA gear to be just as loud.

Even though most DG amps have left the stage and studio, there is still a crowd of die hard enthusiasts:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/yam ... group/info

http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index. ... ff.890050/

A lot of DG amps are no longer used, If you have one, dust it off and plug it in again :!:

Yamaha never made any computer programs for the DG series to load and save patches/settings as we know it from the THR models.
Sven Meerkamp from Germany made a midi patch saving program: the DG-Filer version 2.0a ,
and he has kindly reactivated the downloads: http://s-meerkamp.de/dg_v_20/dg_main.htm
This can save and restore your presets even if the backup battery dies out.

Image

The DG-Filer will need a license/activation key, this can be provided FREE OF CHARGE if you contact Sven Meerkamp.
I just did so hoping to have a full working version soon.

try and check out all the features and sounds of your DG-amp - if you have done a backup with this software you can undo all the changes you made in a few seconds.

The following Yamaha-models are supported :
•DG 80-112
•DG 80-112A
•DG 80-210A
•DG 100-212
•DG 100-212A
•DG 130-H
•DG 130-HA
•DG 1000

Wow, that was one hell of a post!

My first guitar was a black Yamaha acoustic with a white pickguard. I bought it brand new in 1978. My buddy still has it and says it's his favorite.

I've had a couple of Yami bikes, but my latest was a Honda - sorry. ( CBR 929 RR Fireblade ) It would give a R1 a fight. ;)
